µSAS™

High-Performance Sonar Technology

Precise Undersea Imagery

µSAS™ (pronounced micro-SAS) is a first-of-its-kind synthetic aperture sonar (SAS), which allows underwater vehicles to capture precise and high-resolution imagery of the ocean and seabed. By collecting and processing sonar data in real-time, µSAS gives missions the information they need for situational awareness and informed decision-making.

Advanced Imaging Technology

µSAS collects large amounts of sonar data during its missions, which it can process onboard or save for post-mission processing. When paired with our advanced data processing and visualization technologies, sonar data can be turned into immersive 3D environments, enabling warfighters with decision superiority.

One Sensor, Many Missions

As a low-SWAP (size, weight and power) payload, µSAS is adaptable to support many missions. It can operate missions from shallow water to full ocean depth, on a variety of platforms from small-class, man-portable uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) to submarines. µSAS has been integrated onto a variety of platforms, including the HII Unmanned Systems REMUS 6000 autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) pictured to the left.
